The Bold Idea
Work collaboratively with private and public partners to develop people-focused urban innovations and experiences that make cities more enjoyable, communities stronger, and people happier.
The organization
Urban Impact Lab (UI Lab) builds movements that lead to better cities and stronger communities. They are passionate about developing and implementing experiential projects that foster deeper and more meaningful community involvement so innovative solutions to complex urban problems can emerge. Their work doesn’t just end there; they turn their most successful projects into independent and sustainable initiatives, organizations, and/or movements. The urbanists that form Urban Impact Lab take those three words very seriously. They believe the success of cities is driven by constant experimentation designed to create positive impact. With over 20 years of combined experience and backgrounds in urban planning, data research and information technology – they digest large-scale urban challenges into projects that build a better urban future for all.
The UI Lab brought Transit Alliance Miami to life, a non-profit organization advocating for walkable streets, bikeable neighborhoods and better public transit. Their campaigns combine data-driven research, community engagement and policy advocacy to get Miami moving safer, faster and happier.
